The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Firman Unanue could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Christobal Rabe made a huge save. Christobal Rabe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tito Leyte, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Firman Unanue in the 29thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. After some careless play in the Merinos defense, Omar Riazos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sanson Trevijano. The Merinos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sanson Trevijano should have stopped the shot. In the 43rd minute, Tito Leyte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oton Villasuso charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Oton Villasuso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 65 played minutes, Merinos's Dolfo Peinador shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Christobal Rabe came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Merinos reached it. Sanson Trevijano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oton Villasuso in the 70th minute of play. Oton Villasuso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Sanson Trevijano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Valentines FC fans' excitement grew in the 76th match minute when Valentines FC's Oton Villasuso looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Valentines FC's zone, Eugenio Villarruel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christobal Rabe came out of the goal and Eugenio Villarruel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tito Leyte in the 89th minute of play forced Valentines FC's goalkeeper Christobal Rabe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
