Vidal Cuadra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermelando Berzosa in the 14th minute of play. Tino Yzaguirre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enol Pedrueca having to interfere. If Urti Quintano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Piriapolis's Enol Pedrueca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Piriapolis from getting a goal against them. Enol Pedrueca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severo Ibio in the 36th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hermelando Berzosa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Piriapolis's Gomez Lozana sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vidal Cuadra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fernanco Calva's late challenge caught a Sauce's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernanco Calva helped the player get up and apologised. 59 minutes into the match, Sauce's goal looked a bit too open when Hermelando Berzosa came free, but Vidal Cuadra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Martin Ortzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enol Pedrueca having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Severo Ibio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Enol Pedrueca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severo Ibio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th match minute, Piriapolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hermelando Berzosa to maneuver through the defense. Enol Pedrueca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severo Ibio in the 81st minute of play. The supporters of Sauce booed when Piriapolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florian Aspiazu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin Ortzi might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Enol Pedrueca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Martin Ortzi ran back to his position shaking his head. 87 minutes into the match, Piriapolis's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Ortzi came free, but Enol Pedrueca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nelio Caroll during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nelio Caroll kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Severo Ibio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sauce's supporters rose to their feet, but Severo Ibio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enol Pedrueca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Despite being the better team, Sauce failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
