The audience was convinced that Apolo Somiedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Justino Canedo was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Quebracho defense, Oxarra Cura kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Justino Canedo. The Quebracho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Justino Canedo should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vicente Rigueiro during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Paysandu getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Vicente Rigueiro hit a great ball. Severino Begal took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 12th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Berenguer Salero. Paysandu's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Berenguer Salero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurino Urriola in the 18th minute of play. Malvin Roza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 1-1 became the score in the 21st minute when Malvin Roza elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Apolo Somiedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Justino Canedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Apolo Somiedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th minute, Apolo Somiedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Quebracho getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Oliveiro Castrillo hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Paysandu's zone, Malvin Roza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Berenguer Salero came out of the goal and Malvin Roza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oxarra Cura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Justino Canedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Paysandu's goal looked a bit too open when Malvin Roza came free, but Berenguer Salero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paysandu's Apolo Somiedo got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 46th minute, Oxarra Cura got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Apolo Somiedo was the one to do the kick off. Malvin Roza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Berenguer Salero having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Quebracho's goal looked a bit too open when Apolo Somiedo came free, but Justino Canedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Quebracho defense, Oxarra Cura kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Justino Canedo. The Quebracho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Justino Canedo should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Apolo Somiedo in the 68th minute of play forced Quebracho's goalkeeper Justino Canedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Malvin Roza took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Berenguer Salero. Berenguer Salero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. In the 75th match minute, Quebracho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baudelio Lezana to maneuver through the defense. 79 minutes into the match, Paysandu's goal looked a bit too open when Malvin Roza came free, but Berenguer Salero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Paysandu's Christobal Cerda got a free kick in the 80th minute. Oliveiro Castrillo charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Oliveiro Castrillo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 84th minute, Oxarra Cura got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Apolo Somiedo came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Paysandu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Apolo Somiedo couldn't finish the play. In the 88th minute, Apolo Somiedo made a precise shot to the right of Justino Canedo. Quebracho's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. In the 95th minute, Christobal Cerda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paysandu were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Quebracho for a fine match.
