Damaso Mascareñas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vachon Guillen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the match, Candido Valli notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Soto AFC's Damaso Mascareñas. Damaso Mascareñas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 19th minute, Quirze Zaballos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Quirze Zaballos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Erubiel Gorria managed to get in a good position for a shot. Soto AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Erubiel Gorria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yiyo Ruedas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erubiel Gorria in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yiyo Ruedas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Quirze Zaballos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yiyo Ruedas having to interfere. Yiyo Ruedas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Quirze Zaballos, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. If Candido Valli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Soto AFC's Maxin Irazu got a free kick in the 73rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Palma's zone, Erubiel Gorria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yiyo Ruedas came out of the goal and Erubiel Gorria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 79 minutes, Bertin Santianes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palma and the Soto AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 80 played minutes Palma got a freekick which was hit by Bertin Santianes. Gonsalvo Traves missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 81 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Yiyo Ruedas right hand side. Yiyo Ruedas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erubiel Gorria in the 83rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vachon Guillen got free with Damaso Mascareñas in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 91 minutes into the match, Palma's Candido Valli sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Damaso Mascareñas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 91 minutes into the game, Santikurtz Muñagorri was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Soto AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palma the free kick. In the 92nd minute, Santikurtz Muñagorri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Vachon Guillen came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Palma fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vachon Guillen couldn't finish the play. Vachon Guillen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 101st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
