Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ekain Sarmiento got the match started through his kick off. Errolan Codony received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Paulin Garros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Canelones AFC booed when Sosa AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermon Lugo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 17 minutes, Fernado Guixot managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canelones AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernado Guixot was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Hermon Lugo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Laureano Terroba fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sosa AFC's protests and gave Laureano Terroba a yellow card for diving instead. Laureano Terroba kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 27th minute of the match Benvide Rego shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gualterio Galantia showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Fresco Helguera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Gualterio Galantia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulin Garros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ekain Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After 37th play minutes Ekain Sarmiento shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Paulin Garros and just under the crossbar into goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fresco Helguera made a kick off. After 51 minutes, Hermon Lugo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sosa AFC and the Canelones AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Sosa AFC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Hermon Lugo hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Sosa AFC's zone, Fresco Helguera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gualterio Galantia came out of the goal and Fresco Helguera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 59th minute, Marcos Saladrigues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paulin Garros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ekain Sarmiento's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Hermon Lugo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sosa AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hermon Lugo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulin Garros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match clock showed 69 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Fresco Helguera sped through Sosa AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gualterio Galantia. Fernado Guixot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualterio Galantia having to interfere. Gualterio Galantia came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Canelones AFC's Fernado Guixot. But to his dismay, Fernado Guixot quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Errolan Codony's late challenge caught a Canelones AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Errolan Codony helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Sosa AFC's Errolan Codony got a free kick in the 81st minute. Ekain Sarmiento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hermon Lugo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulin Garros having to interfere. Canelones AFC's Paulin Garros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ekain Sarmiento in the 91st minute of play. Hermon Lugo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulin Garros having to interfere. Gualterio Galantia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quinito Beltran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Canelones AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Canelones AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
