After 13 played minutes Gerona got a freekick which was hit by Txartiko Jesus. In the 14th minute of the match Ezkerra Ermua shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sidro Valderrama showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Montes AFC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Blasco Llama hit a great ball. Beturian Servicial, 22 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Aquilino Fernando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Primo Berrez having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Licerio Solsona in the 34th minute of play forced Montes AFC's goalkeeper Primo Berrez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Aquilino Fernando sped through Montes AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Primo Berrez. Ugutz Villaseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 42nd minute, Cilio Pravia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Montes AFC's Ugutz Villaseca got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cilio Pravia to make the kick off. Ugutz Villaseca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Sidro Valderrama made a huge save. If Aquilino Fernando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sidro Valderrama took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cilio Pravia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Montes AFC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Orlando Ibias hit a great ball. After 66 played minutes Gerona got a freekick which was hit by Lorenz Monzon. After a rather tough play, Montes AFC's Orlando Ibias got a free kick in the 69th minute. Sidro Valderrama showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cilio Pravia in the 72nd minute of the match. Primo Berrez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Licerio Solsona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 74 played minutes Montes AFC got a freekick which was hit by Christobal Iza. 76 minutes into the game, Aquilino Fernando was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gerona's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montes AFC the free kick. The supporters of Montes AFC booed when Gerona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aquilino Fernando didn't get a good kick on the ball. Montes AFC were awarded a corner in the 81th minute after Gerona's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ezkerra Ermua took the corner. Ugutz Villaseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidro Valderrama having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Gerona's zone, Ugutz Villaseca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sidro Valderrama came out of the goal and Ugutz Villaseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ugutz Villaseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidro Valderrama having to interfere. A collision led to Gerona getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Silban Paiz hit a great ball. Gerona's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
