The audience was convinced that Salvino Laures's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Waldir Arana was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Benja Olazarra hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. When Oriol Zayas fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Suarez's protests and gave Oriol Zayas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 18th minute, Oriol Zayas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 20thth minute of the game Stanislao Riancho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Suarez's Waldir Arana was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 23rd minute Salvino Laures shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldir Arana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Indalecio Marino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Refugio Hita in the 25th minute of play. The Pocitos FC fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when Pocitos FC's Stanislao Riancho looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Pocitos FC booed when Suarez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oriol Zayas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Suarez's Waldir Arana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stanislao Riancho in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Refugio Hita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Indalecio Marino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joaquim Ricaredo in the 45th minute. Indalecio Marino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Refugio Hita in the 46th minute of the match. The Suarez players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Pocitos FC were winning 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pocitos FC's Paulino Villoldo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 68th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Waldir Arana but with some difficulty. In the 69th minute Ortzi Barriobero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Indalecio Marino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Pocitos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Oriol Zayas came free, but Indalecio Marino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ado Conde took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 72nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Indalecio Marino. Pocitos FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 77th minute, Stanislao Riancho made a precise shot to the right of Waldir Arana. Suarez's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. 80 minutes into the match, Pocitos FC's Stanislao Riancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Waldir Arana narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Ricaredo in the 82nd minute of play forced Pocitos FC's goalkeeper Indalecio Marino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a left leg Waldir Arana saved Suarez from getting behind. The Pocitos FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pocitos FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
