The audience was convinced that Severiano Machon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pinto Lozares was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. The supporters of Buceo FC booed when Suarez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Humberto Pena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Everardo Septien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Severiano Machon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Salomone Chimeno in the 20th minute of play forced Suarez's goalkeeper Pinto Lozares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pinto Lozares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severiano Machon's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Pabla Canellas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Joaquin Ungo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Everardo Septien got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Everardo Septien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Suarez's Pabla Canellas got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joaquin Ungo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Everardo Septien, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joaquin Ungo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pabla Canellas, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. When Salomone Chimeno came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Buceo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Salomone Chimeno couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pabla Canellas made a kick off. Salomone Chimeno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Suarez's zone, Salomone Chimeno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pinto Lozares came out of the goal and Salomone Chimeno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 61st minute, Everardo Septien ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquin Ungo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Kevin Badillo hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Pinto Lozares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severiano Machon in the 75th minute of the match. Everardo Septien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Ungo having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nacho Larren during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 81st minute, one of Buceo FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Buceo FC. Pinto Lozares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severiano Machon, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 90 minutes into the game, when Gonzales Sicilia put in a rough tackle. Pinto Lozares went to the wrong direction when Kevin Badillo was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Buceo FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Suarez.
