Quexal Cocolina breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Lop Cabanela kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Quexal Cocolina. That made the score 1-0 in the 17 minute of play. Lop Cabanela's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Quexal Cocolina read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Silbestre Larrieta hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Larpe Celis during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ospin Mendivil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christiano Zaldua received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Mannie Cossio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guib Oliva might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mannie Cossio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Guib Oliva ran back to his position shaking his head. Quexal Cocolina was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lop Cabanela showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 39 minute of play. Lop Cabanela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Quexal Cocolina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ospin Mendivil to strike the kick off in the second half. Osmundo Marimon kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 59th minute Lop Cabanela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quexal Cocolina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SPORTIVO NUEVOS PESOS's Ospin Mendivil got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Merinos AFC's Christiano Zaldua in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SPORTIVO NUEVOS PESOS's goalie prevented a goal. SPORTIVO NUEVOS PESOS's Lop Cabanela got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. During the 73rd minute of the match Larpe Celis completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Larpe Celis a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Merinos AFC booed when SPORTIVO NUEVOS PESOS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Larpe Celis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guib Oliva's late challenge caught a SPORTIVO NUEVOS PESOS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guib Oliva helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of SPORTIVO NUEVOS PESOS booed when Merinos AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guib Oliva didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute, Lop Cabanela got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 82nd minute, Guib Oliva made a precise shot to the right of Mannie Cossio. SPORTIVO NUEVOS PESOS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. After 87 minutes, Xalbador Agriano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Merinos AFC and the SPORTIVO NUEVOS PESOS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Lop Cabanela charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lop Cabanela the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 89th minute, Lop Cabanela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There was no doubt that SPORTIVO NUEVOS PESOS were the better team. SPORTIVO NUEVOS PESOS's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
