Norino Albarez made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Saturnino Jurado sent off a good shot on target. When Taurino Justo fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Red Bull Montevideo's protests and gave Taurino Justo a yellow card for diving instead. Norino Albarez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 74 minutes, Andoni Cerrabe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
