Haroldo Huerga didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mingo Luaces went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Lia Cebollero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 9 minutes into the game, C. A. Punta Carretas's Mingo Luaces nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Haroldo Huerga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Mito Bozhankov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Pankracy Walec had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jean Gould scored 0-3 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Haroldo Huerga, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Liga Prado FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Agostinho Lizarazu hit a great ball. The supporters of C. A. Punta Carretas booed when Liga Prado FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lia Cebollero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mingo Luaces struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Haroldo Huerga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C. A. Punta Carretas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gomez Seguin in the 40th minute of play forced Liga Prado FC's goalkeeper Haroldo Huerga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 41 minutes into the game, Mingo Luaces cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Haroldo Huerga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Liga Prado FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. C. A. Punta Carretas were winning 0-5.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lia Cebollero to make the kick off. Haroldo Huerga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gomez Seguin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mingo Luaces sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gomez Seguin in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Haroldo Huerga saved Liga Prado FC from getting behind. In the 57th minute, Hernando Says hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gomez Seguin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd minute Lia Cebollero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Gerhof saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. C. A. Punta Carretas's Mattias Gerhof played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lia Cebollero in the 75th minute of play. Liga Prado FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rene Calderon in the 77th minute. The corner led Liga Prado FC's Rene Calderon to fire away a dangerous shot which Mattias Gerhof despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Lia Cebollero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mattias Gerhof read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Liga Prado FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rene Calderon in the 81st minute. Liga Prado FC's Rene Calderon was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mattias Gerhof in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Lia Cebollero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Liga Prado FC's Lia Cebollero got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 87th minute, Gomez Seguin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Haroldo Huerga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gomez Seguin in the 89th minute of play. When Jean Gould fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C. A. Punta Carretas's protests and gave Jean Gould a yellow card for diving instead. In the 93rd minute, Jean Gould hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The C. A. Punta Carretas players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
