The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Centurion's Santiago Bultron sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Xabat Helguera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 5 minutes into the match, Candil's goal looked a bit too open when Santiago Bultron came free, but Xabat Helguera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Quirce Altamirano came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Candil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Quirce Altamirano couldn't finish the play. In the 15th minute Lucado Maceda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rik Peralves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xabat Helguera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santiago Bultron in the 17th minute of the match. Lauaxeta Deleyto kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Candil's Xabat Helguera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santiago Bultron in the 19th minute of play. In the 24th minute Lucado Maceda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rik Peralves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Candil's Lucado Maceda in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Centurion's goalie prevented a goal. Centurion's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Xabat Helguera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lonzo Juarez in the 34th minute of play. Centurion's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Lucado Maceda scored to the left of an out of position Rik Peralves, making the score, 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Quirce Altamirano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Candil's supporters rose to their feet, but Quirce Altamirano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rik Peralves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucado Maceda in the 41st minute of play forced Centurion's goalkeeper Rik Peralves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Candil's goal looked a bit too open when Santiago Bultron came free, but Xabat Helguera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, Centurion's goalkeeper Rik Peralves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gorri Villayres. Candil's Xabat Helguera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santiago Bultron in the 48th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lucado Maceda was the one to do the kick off. With an all-out effort, Centurion's Xabat Helguera threw himself towards the right post 52 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Santiago Bultron, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Santiago Bultron struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Xabat Helguera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Centurion. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Candil's goalkeeper Xabat Helguera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Xabat Helguera made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Lonzo Juarez sent off a good shot on target. Lonzo Juarez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Xabat Helguera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 70 minutes into the match, Candil's Lucado Maceda sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rik Peralves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 73 minutes into the match, Candil's goalkeeper Xabat Helguera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lonzo Juarez. If Lucado Maceda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Denis Landeros hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Lucado Maceda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rik Peralves having to interfere. 91 minutes into the match, Candil's Lucado Maceda sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rik Peralves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Lonzo Juarez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Denis Landeros hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Centurion's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
