Ruperto Bango charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ruperto Bango the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 9 minutes into the game, Otsando Labarra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bolivar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Candil the free kick. After 9 played minutes Bolivar got a freekick which was hit by Otsando Labarra. Chayo Gonzalez took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mercurio Herencia. Bolivar's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A hard shot 14 in the game by Gonzalo Cantillo from a close distance when the talented Xabat Helguera managed to make a qualified save. Candil's players were relieved. 16 minutes into the match, Bolivar's Iker Emesabel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Xabat Helguera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Iker Emesabel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Candil's Xabat Helguera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Candil from getting a goal against them. Mercurio Herencia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucado Maceda, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. If Quirce Altamirano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Candil's Ruperto Bango got his second yellow card of the match in the 31st minute. The referee ordered Ruperto Bango off the ground. After 32 played minutes Candil got a freekick which was hit by Ruperto Bango. Quirce Altamirano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Mercurio Herencia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Quirce Altamirano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Quirce Altamirano came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Candil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Quirce Altamirano couldn't finish the play. Xabat Helguera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iker Emesabel, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iker Emesabel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Quirce Altamirano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mercurio Herencia having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, Bolivar's goal looked a bit too open when Illart Cavadilla came free, but Mercurio Herencia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gonzalo Cantillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xabat Helguera having to interfere. The supporters of Bolivar booed when Candil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gorri Villayres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xabat Helguera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iker Emesabel in the 85th minute of the match. Quirce Altamirano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mercurio Herencia having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iker Emesabel in the 91st minute of play forced Candil's goalkeeper Xabat Helguera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gonzalo Cantillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benjamin Pardemanos hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Bolivar succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Candil had controlled the match.
