The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Artemio Oñativia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Balesio Haedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Etxeberri Teberga hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Balesio Haedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Urtzi Socobio took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Artemio Oñativia. Artemio Oñativia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 23 played minutes Palomas AFC got a freekick which was hit by Criston Berar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Modesto Villaseñor got free with Prejun Saracha in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Urtzi Socobio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Carlos Cardigondi's late challenge caught a Carbonero's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Cardigondi helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Palomas AFC's Carlos Cardigondi got a free kick in the 30th minute. Criston Berar kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 36th minute of the match Jose Berganza sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Artemio Oñativia skillfully saved the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Palomas AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Urtzi Socobio came free, but Artemio Oñativia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 48th minute, Perutxo Benegas made a precise shot to the right of Artemio Oñativia. Palomas AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The Palomas AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Carbonero were winning 0-2.

Carlos Cardigondi hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Carbonero were awarded a corner in the 68th minute after Palomas AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jose Berganza took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Jose Berganza got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Artemio Oñativia quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Artemio Oñativia was out of position in the 75 minute of play, and Urtzi Socobio capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Urtzi Socobio really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Cordero Cayado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Etxeberri Teberga hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Xulian Aguilera hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Prejun Saracha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Cardigondi in the 91st minute of play. 92 minutes in the game, Balesio Haedo fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Artemio Oñativia having to interfere. Balesio Haedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Balesio Haedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Artemio Oñativia was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. Carbonero's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
