The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Menafra FC's Sendoa Zumalburu got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Txordon Enestrosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gar Morillas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lino Biosca in the 9th minute of the match. Sendoa Zumalburu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Medardo Gaviña having to interfere. Menafra FC's Sendoa Zumalburu got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Medardo Gaviña made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sendoa Zumalburu in the 16th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Rivera AFC's zone, Faustino Fernandez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Medardo Gaviña came out of the goal and Faustino Fernandez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Txordon Enestrosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Faustino Fernandez to make the kick off. A collision led to Menafra FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Faustino Fernandez hit a great ball. After having played for 54 minutes, Sendoa Zumalburu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Menafra FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sendoa Zumalburu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Faustino Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 64 minutes into the match, Menafra FC's Sendoa Zumalburu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Medardo Gaviña narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Medardo Gaviña didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Faustino Fernandez went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. 74 minutes into the match, Rivera AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Txordon Enestrosa came free, but Medardo Gaviña reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Medardo Gaviña showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sendoa Zumalburu in the 91st minute of the match. 92 minutes into the game, Beliran Esteban was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Menafra FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rivera AFC the free kick. In the 95th minute, Pepito Balaguer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute, Faustino Fernandez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Menafra FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0.
