The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th match minute, PEÑAROL l B l was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cloyo Labora to maneuver through the defense. Musko Purrigimon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martxot Pinillos, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 13th minute, Emerson Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 19 minutes into the game, Algorta's Martxot Pinillos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Musko Purrigimon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Vitório de Carvalho took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Aureo Relloso to make any attempt to save it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sugar Almarza during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Algorta's Sugar Almarza got a free kick in the 28th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciceron Cainzos got free with Aureo Relloso in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. PEÑAROL l B l's Musko Purrigimon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martxot Pinillos in the 37th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baudelio Cazares in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Musko Purrigimon saved PEÑAROL l B l from getting behind. In the 41st minute, Vitório de Carvalho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Aureo Relloso. The goal made the score 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vitório de Carvalho was the one to do the kick off. Aureo Relloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciceron Cainzos in the 52nd minute of play. Ciceron Cainzos's late challenge caught a Algorta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ciceron Cainzos helped the player get up and apologised. Ciceron Cainzos kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. In the 57th match minute, PEÑAROL l B l was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciceron Cainzos to maneuver through the defense. Aureo Relloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciceron Cainzos in the 58th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Ciceron Cainzos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aureo Relloso was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Aureo Relloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitório de Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 73rd match minute, Algorta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Suero Blas to maneuver through the defense. Lucas Jerez hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 80th minute Baudelio Cazares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Musko Purrigimon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Algorta booed when PEÑAROL l B l was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cloyo Labora didn't get a good kick on the ball. During the 89th minute of the match Cloyo Labora completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cloyo Labora a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 90 played minutes PEÑAROL l B l got a freekick which was hit by Cloyo Labora. Martxot Pinillos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Musko Purrigimon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The PEÑAROL l B l fans cheered their team off the field, for while Algorta had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
