The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Rentisto's Delfino Peñarroja got a free kick in the 4th minute. 5 minutes into the match, Sarandi FC's Vermudo Urruchi broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After a rather tough play, Rentisto's Urtungo Torre got a free kick in the 9th minute. The supporters of Sarandi FC booed when Rentisto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Soter Hesa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Sarandi FC defense, Amadeo Miranes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Michael Castro. The Sarandi FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Michael Castro should have stopped the shot. Michael Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mincho Carradelo, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After some careless play in the Sarandi FC defense, Mincho Carradelo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Michael Castro. The Sarandi FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Michael Castro should have stopped the shot. If Mincho Carradelo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Sarandi FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Rentisto were winning 0-2.

After 53 played minutes Sarandi FC got a freekick which was hit by Martxelin Chillon. After a defensive mix-up in Sarandi FC's zone, Ildefonso Velez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michael Castro came out of the goal and Ildefonso Velez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 60 played minutes Rentisto got a freekick which was hit by Casimiro Oberto. With a little luck, Sarandi FC's Michael Castro got control of the ball when Mincho Carradelo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Michael Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amadeo Miranes in the 69th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Sarandi FC's Txeru Guadiana got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 78th minute, Mincho Carradelo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 85 minutes, Mincho Carradelo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rentisto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mincho Carradelo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sarandi FC were furious when Jerrold Labra was red carded, 92 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests.
