Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Carpinteria's Cai Niño started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Carpinteria's zone, Santxo Puellas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teodoro Lera came out of the goal and Santxo Puellas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Santxo Puellas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bernaldo Arandoja fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodoro Lera having to interfere. A hard shot by Fulvio Proietto from long distance, 21 minutes into the match, got Teodoro Lera's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Humberto Barahona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Teodoro Lera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Santxo Puellas went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. If Cai Niño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Salta AFC's Miliano Espino got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 45 minutes, Santxo Puellas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salta AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Santxo Puellas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Teodoro Lera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santxo Puellas in the 48th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Santxo Puellas was the one to do the kick off. Santxo Puellas struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Teodoro Lera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Salta AFC. When Salta AFC's Santxo Puellas in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Carpinteria's goalie prevented a goal. If Santxo Puellas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 64 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Carpinteria! Cai Niño charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cai Niño the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Salta AFC booed when Carpinteria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cai Niño didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmundo Lerea's late challenge caught a Carpinteria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edmundo Lerea helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Salta AFC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Edmundo Lerea hit a great ball. In the 73rd minute Santxo Puellas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodoro Lera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edmundo Lerea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Teodoro Lera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Salta AFC's Santxo Puellas in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Carpinteria's goalie prevented a goal. The Salta AFC fans' excitement grew in the 77th match minute when Salta AFC's Santxo Puellas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Santxo Puellas in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Teodoro Lera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 84 minutes into the match, Salta AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Baiardo Laureano came free, but Florentino Quintanilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Carpinteria's zone, Santxo Puellas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. A beautiful save bye Carpinteria's goalie prevented a goal. 91 minutes into the match, Edmundo Lerea notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Carpinteria's Teodoro Lera. Teodoro Lera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 95 minutes into the match, Salta AFC's Santxo Puellas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Teodoro Lera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Teodoro Lera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santxo Puellas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. During the 98th minute of the match Edmundo Lerea completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Edmundo Lerea a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. When the referee ended the match the Salta AFC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
