Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Araujo getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Javiar Randoli hit a great ball. 11 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Darwin FC's Stefano Payva fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. 15 minutes into the match, Darwin FC's goalkeeper Germano Cordal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ler Oñaederra. Saturnino Ampuero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ler Oñaederra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Saturnino Ampuero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Germano Cordal was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. 26 minutes into the match, Darwin FC's Stefano Payva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zeledon Torcida narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 27th minute Neto Miñaca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeledon Torcida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefano Payva in the 28th minute of play forced Araujo's goalkeeper Zeledon Torcida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ler Oñaederra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Araujo booed when Darwin FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaac Estenaga didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Darwin FC's Germano Cordal got control of the ball when Ler Oñaederra tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 38th minute, Lisandro Othaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ler Oñaederra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Germano Cordal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stefano Payva in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zeledon Torcida saved Araujo from getting behind. In the 43rd match minute, Araujo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Javiar Randoli to maneuver through the defense.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stefano Payva was the one to do the kick off. After 56 minutes, Cordaryal Segurola mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Araujo and the Darwin FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 56 played minutes Araujo got a freekick which was hit by Cordaryal Segurola. In the 59th minute Ler Oñaederra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Germano Cordal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ler Oñaederra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Germano Cordal having to interfere. Germano Cordal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saturnino Ampuero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Saturnino Ampuero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ler Oñaederra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68thth minute of the game Saturnino Ampuero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Darwin FC's Germano Cordal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Neto Miñaca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Araujo's Zeledon Torcida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neto Miñaca in the 70th minute of play. After 74 played minutes Araujo got a freekick which was hit by Cesareo Pazos. Stefano Payva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeledon Torcida having to interfere. 82 minutes into the match, Darwin FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ler Oñaederra came free, but Germano Cordal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 83rd match minute, Darwin FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felipillo Laserna to maneuver through the defense. Germano Cordal came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Araujo's Saturnino Ampuero. But to his dismay, Saturnino Ampuero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Saturnino Ampuero put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Germano Cordal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Darwin FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Araujo.
