The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ximeno Natal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sayveon Fontecha in the 6th minute of the match. Cristo Caborredondo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Osoitz Olabarrieta in the 10th minute. Ximeno Natal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chayo Olanda, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Sayveon Fontecha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ximeno Natal having to interfere. If Osoitz Olabarrieta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Vazquez defense, Osoitz Olabarrieta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cristo Caborredondo. The Vazquez fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristo Caborredondo should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Sayveon Fontecha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ximeno Natal was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. In the 28th match minute, Franquia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Foro Dozal to maneuver through the defense. Vazquez's Cristo Caborredondo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Vazquez from getting a goal against them. Franquia's Ximeno Natal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sayveon Fontecha in the 34th minute of play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sayveon Fontecha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, one of Vazquez:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Andre Zamora sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristo Caborredondo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osoitz Olabarrieta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Niceto Oyaga's late challenge caught a Vazquez's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Niceto Oyaga helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Vazquez booed when Franquia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niceto Oyaga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gurutz Covielles thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Cristo Caborredondo, a very annoying self made goal in the 98th minute which led to 3-1. Franquia's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
