Salvadore Irigoras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Salvadore Irigoras in the 9th minute of play forced Montevideo AFC's goalkeeper Marcos Idalgo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Montevideo AFC's Gaxan Posadas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ciro Orio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 13 minutes, Heitor Arza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trigo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heitor Arza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 16th minute, Gaxan Posadas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 17th match minute, Trigo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erlantz Barajo to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute, Salvadore Irigoras ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcos Idalgo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Ciro Orio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaxan Posadas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Blanco Ciaño's late challenge caught a Trigo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Blanco Ciaño helped the player get up and apologised. Blanco Ciaño hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Salvadore Irigoras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Idalgo having to interfere. After having played for 34 minutes, Heitor Arza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trigo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heitor Arza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Trigo's zone, Dodorol Cucurull stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciro Orio came out of the goal and Dodorol Cucurull tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ciro Orio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gaxan Posadas's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Montevideo AFC's Marcos Idalgo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salvadore Irigoras in the 43rd minute of play. Gaxan Posadas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciro Orio having to interfere. After the first half Trigo were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gaxan Posadas to make the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Dodorol Cucurull managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montevideo AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dodorol Cucurull was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dodorol Cucurull struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Ciro Orio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montevideo AFC. Heitor Arza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Idalgo having to interfere. Francisco Mieses was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 62 minutes into the match. The referee gave Montevideo AFC a penalty, 64 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Benvido Mañe, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Trigo's Ciro Orio. 1-1. After a rather tough play, Trigo's Anselmo Ribas got a free kick in the 67th minute. After having played for 70 minutes, Heitor Arza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trigo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Heitor Arza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dodorol Cucurull sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Montevideo AFC booed when Trigo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Calisto Quicedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute, Dodorol Cucurull got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erlantz Barajo hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Gaxan Posadas scored 2-1 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ciro Orio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ciro Orio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaxan Posadas in the 89th minute of the match. When Blanco Ciaño was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 92 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Montevideo AFC's Blanco Ciaño got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Marcos Idalgo made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Heitor Arza sent off a good shot on target. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Montevideo AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Trigo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
