Galeno Montiel kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After 25 played minutes Palmitas got a freekick which was hit by Misael Bolimburu. After a defensive mix-up in Palmitas's zone, Teofilo Urquiola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gartzi Ocharan came out of the goal and Teofilo Urquiola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th match minute, Palmitas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iigo Mendiune to maneuver through the defense. Bladi Pizaño hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Teofilo Urquiola was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute, Antonio Irizarry made a precise shot to the right of Asur Diana. Montevideo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antonio Irizarry got free with Asur Diana in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gartzi Ocharan came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Montevideo's Galeno Montiel. But to his dismay, Galeno Montiel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Asur Diana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iigo Mendiune, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. When Antonio Irizarry came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Palmitas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antonio Irizarry couldn't finish the play. When Teofilo Urquiola came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Montevideo fans jumped to their feet.
