Elija Fontarigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Vichadero AFC's Roque Ubilla got a free kick in the 10th minute. Zernin Cadorniga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elija Fontarigo having to interfere. If Pablo-Enrique Betoño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute of the game, Gabino Molla landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Blas Ceniceros during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Joanico getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Blas Ceniceros hit a great ball. Zernin Cadorniga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Laurgain Cardeños was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 25 minutes into the match, Vichadero AFC's goalkeeper Elija Fontarigo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Blas Ceniceros. 36 minutes into the match, Joanico's goal looked a bit too open when Xencio Martijana came free, but Laurgain Cardeños reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Zernin Cadorniga kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Elija Fontarigo. That made the score 1-1 in the 38 minute of play. Xencio Martijana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laurgain Cardeños having to interfere. Laurgain Cardeños took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xencio Martijana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Xencio Martijana was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Batista Arenas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The long shot by Zeruko Agudo in the 62nd minute really tested Laurgain Cardeños's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 67th minute, Xencio Martijana fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Laurgain Cardeños, passed just outside the right post. In the 78th minute, Gervasio Baptiste hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Batista Arenas charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Batista Arenas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Elija Fontarigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zernin Cadorniga in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 83rd match minute, Vichadero AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaxan Bonechea to maneuver through the defense. Xencio Martijana might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Laurgain Cardeños. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Xencio Martijana ran back to his position shaking his head. Elija Fontarigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zernin Cadorniga, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Joanico's goalkeeper Laurgain Cardeños, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Vichadero AFC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
