In the 4th match minute, Mariscala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rudolfo Cortazar to maneuver through the defense. Casomiro Fontecavada was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 7th minute. Union FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 15th minute, Juan-Carlos Pas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juan-Carlos Olarria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chan Alfaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 24 minutes, Chan Alfaro made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Union FC's Juan-Carlos Olarria tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 34 played minutes Union FC got a freekick which was hit by Gelacio Tejeda. Havier Filare sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Union FC's Juan-Carlos Olarria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Havier Filare in the 44th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Chan Alfaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan-Carlos Olarria having to interfere. Havier Filare struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Juan-Carlos Olarria didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mariscala. If Chale Alamos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chale Alamos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Izotz Torga having to make a save. When Havier Filare came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Mariscala fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Havier Filare couldn't finish the play. 0-2 became the score in the 82nd minute when Chan Alfaro elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 94th match minute, Union FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gelacio Tejeda to maneuver through the defense. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mariscala walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
