In the 4th minute, Paysandu's Matei Ocomardia ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Reimundo Quejura. Reimundo Quejura yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After 8 minutes, Walme Remon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Coronilla FC and the Paysandu players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Coronilla FC's Walme Remon got a free kick in the 8th minute. Oroitz Villarino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Reimundo Quejura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 22nd match minute, Paysandu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvio Abascal to maneuver through the defense. Balasi Batalle's late challenge caught a Paysandu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee showed Jose Adriano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Salvino Ayllon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walme Remon in the 41st minute of the match. Reimundo Quejura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artal Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matei Ocomardia during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 84th match minute, Paysandu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Adriano to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walme Remon in the 85th minute of play forced Paysandu's goalkeeper Salvino Ayllon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Salvino Ayllon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Coronilla FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
