In the 20th minute Sal Herrea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuno Piñeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 21 minutes of play, Baygorria's Sal Herrea made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Buceo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mendiko Puellas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an all-out effort, Buceo's Obano Huemen threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mendiko Puellas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mendiko Puellas made a kick off.
