When Filiberto Pastor fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ramos's protests and gave Filiberto Pastor a yellow card for diving instead. After 5 played minutes Ramos got a freekick which was hit by Filiberto Pastor. Narciso Aras made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Osasun Casanova sent off a good shot on target. Andoni Urtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remir Viramontez in the 19th minute of play. Norino Loriga's late challenge caught a Chacarita's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Norino Loriga helped the player get up and apologised. In the 23rd match minute, Ramos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norino Loriga to maneuver through the defense. When Remir Viramontez came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Chacarita fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Remir Viramontez couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Ramos's zone, Zeledon Pas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andoni Urtado came out of the goal and Zeledon Pas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Remir Viramontez in the 31st minute of play forced Ramos's goalkeeper Andoni Urtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 played minutes, Chacarita's Clis Villar shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Andoni Urtado came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chacarita reached it. The supporters of Chacarita booed when Ramos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moises Tiagonce didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chacarita's Remir Viramontez got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Osasun Casanova received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Narciso Aras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Xamin Fuenmayor to make the kick off. Ekhi Egas charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ekhi Egas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Chacarita getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Ekhi Egas hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Chacarita's Severiano Bolas got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Andoni Urtado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zeledon Pas in the 60th minute. Ramos's Norino Loriga got his second yellow card of the match in the 61st minute. The referee ordered Norino Loriga off the ground. Zeledon Pas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Andoni Urtado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andoni Urtado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zeledon Pas in the 70th minute. Andoni Urtado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Remir Viramontez's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Chacarita's Zeledon Pas got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Osasun Casanova had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute, Moises Tiagonce hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 84th minute, Moises Tiagonce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Osasun Casanova sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Osasun Casanova received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Narciso Aras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ramos's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
