Txeru Urdaneta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frisco Tejeria in the 11th minute of play. Meder Tojedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Xavier Crujeiras took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Meder Tojedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Canelones's goalkeeper Xavier Crujeiras, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aimar Olloqui struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Txeru Urdaneta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canelones. Txeru Urdaneta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frisco Tejeria in the 33rd minute of the match. After having played for 34 minutes, Aimar Olloqui managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canelones's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aimar Olloqui was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Aimar Olloqui had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 40th match minute, Celeste was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Meder Tojedo to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Aimar Olloqui made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Canelones's Jaen Vagrande got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Celeste's Duarte Fontoya couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 54th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Canelones. Lazaro Hesa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Xavier Crujeiras. Canelones's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Frisco Tejeria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Txeru Urdaneta having to interfere. Chabier Vivera charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chabier Vivera the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Canelones's Chabier Vivera got a free kick in the 86th minute. Xavier Crujeiras stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Meder Tojedo's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. 93 minutes into the match, Canelones's Aimar Olloqui sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Txeru Urdaneta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Xavier Crujeiras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Meder Tojedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
