Dolcet Zaldain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raymon Toresano in the 22nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Raymon Toresano put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Dolcet Zaldain. Raebert Peñacastillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Arenal FC booed when Maldonado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hodei Larrañaga didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Jorge Cambero managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maldonado's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Cambero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dolcet Zaldain breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tino Manso during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tino Manso kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. A collision led to Arenal FC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Dorio Borinaga hit a great ball. 37 minutes into the game, Raymon Toresano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Dolcet Zaldain was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Jorge Cambero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Maldonado's Gamus Ruano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Llope Hornilla in the 53rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Maldonado's zone, Raebert Peñacastillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gamus Ruano came out of the goal and Raebert Peñacastillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Llope Hornilla scored 1-2 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gamus Ruano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Phelipe Gaztelumendi kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Raebert Peñacastillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Gamus Ruano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
