Nacional's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fagundez the free kick. Tohias Robira hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. When Fagundez's Fiz Valer in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nacional's goalie prevented a goal. In the 15th minute, Ricardo Lezama hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Odilon Pubill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fiz Valer, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Fagundez's goal looked a bit too open when Tohias Robira came free, but Jacobo Vidaurre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tohias Robira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Jacobo Vidaurre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Geraldo Jaraba reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Odilon Pubill. The goal made the score 1-0. Eriz Rollan kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After 34 played minutes, Fagundez's Rudolfo Semprun shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Odilon Pubill came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fagundez reached it. In the 35th minute Oliveiro Sominaya shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Vidaurre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tohias Robira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jacobo Vidaurre having to make a save. Oliveiro Sominaya received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Jacobo Vidaurre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Fagundez getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Rudolfo Semprun hit a great ball. After 44 minutes of play, Nacional's Oliveiro Sominaya made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jacobo Vidaurre was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Oliveiro Sominaya made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fiz Valer in the 58th minute of play forced Nacional's goalkeeper Odilon Pubill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frichoso Guibar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Jacobo Vidaurre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 69 minutes into the game, Tohias Robira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Jacobo Vidaurre was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 75th minute, Ruy Espantoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oliveiro Sominaya struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Jacobo Vidaurre didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nacional. If Oliveiro Sominaya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute, Oliveiro Sominaya left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nacional fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. The crowd rose to their feet as Frichoso Guibar kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jacobo Vidaurre. That made the score 1-5 in the 92 minute of play. Nacional played a much better game than Fagundez and deserved their victory. The Fagundez players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
