Estevam Merino didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pellas Meldasgoas went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Lopes Avendaño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Echevarria's Rocendo Fornell got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 18th play minutes Lopes Avendaño shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Estevam Merino and just under the crossbar into goal. A collision led to Espinillo getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Chumo Lormendez hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Lopes Avendaño's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Estevam Merino was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. In the 26th minute, Eguen Lizarazu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 26 minutes into the match, Echevarria's Admon Cabral sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Estevam Merino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lopes Avendaño sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Echevarria fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when Echevarria's Lopes Avendaño looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Estevam Merino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lopes Avendaño's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Rocendo Fornell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Estevam Merino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lopes Avendaño, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the game, Lopes Avendaño cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Estevam Merino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Remir Trasmiera stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Echevarria getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Silverio Cigüenza hit a great ball. Esquipula Betolaza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remir Trasmiera, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. The supporters of Echevarria booed when Espinillo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chumo Lormendez didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Rocendo Fornell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lopes Avendaño's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 62ndth minute, Estevam Merino skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Rocendo Fornell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute of the match, Lopes Avendaño got a very nice opportunity to score, but Estevam Merino was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After having played for 66 minutes, Rocendo Fornell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Echevarria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rocendo Fornell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Lopes Avendaño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Estevam Merino managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when Echevarria's Lopes Avendaño fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Lico Rigual hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute, Perez Casabo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Echevarria's Esquipula Betolaza didn't even have to move. Esquipula Betolaza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chuan Ovalle in the 77th minute of the match. Lopes Avendaño blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Estevam Merino having to make a save. If Rocendo Fornell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lopes Avendaño in the 86thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Estevam Merino, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Pellas Meldasgoas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Estevam Merino. That made the score 0-6 in the 87 minute of play. Echevarria played a much better game than Espinillo and deserved their victory. The Espinillo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
