The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Efrain Bao sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 10 minutes into the match, Sanchez FC's Efrain Bao sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Montrelle Ceballos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Lucas Ilarza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sanchez FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucas Ilarza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Montrelle Ceballos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Efrain Bao in the 17th minute of play forced Merinos FC's goalkeeper Montrelle Ceballos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Efrain Bao fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Montrelle Ceballos having to interfere. If Efrain Bao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frisco Mexia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jordi Nieves in the 24th minute of the match. A collision led to Merinos FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Fidel Casillas hit a great ball. Pio Queralt might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Montrelle Ceballos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pio Queralt ran back to his position shaking his head. Umbruso Lastras kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Efrain Bao in the 33rd minute of play forced Merinos FC's goalkeeper Montrelle Ceballos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Merinos FC's Angelino Villarinos got a free kick in the 34th minute. Frisco Mexia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milio Urizar, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Milio Urizar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frisco Mexia having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Efrain Bao to strike the kick off in the second half. If Efrain Bao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Milio Urizar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pio Queralt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Montrelle Ceballos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Efrain Bao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Merinos FC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. William Chavarri hit a great ball. Frisco Mexia made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Jordi Nieves sent off a good shot on target. Milio Urizar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frisco Mexia having to interfere. After having played for 78 minutes, Milio Urizar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Merinos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Milio Urizar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Efrain Bao received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Montrelle Ceballos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Pio Queralt came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Sanchez FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pio Queralt couldn't finish the play. Milio Urizar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pio Queralt struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Montrelle Ceballos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sanchez FC. In the 96th match minute, Merinos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Umbruso Lastras to maneuver through the defense. After 99 minutes Merinos FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Elequemedo Igarza who took care of the corner kick. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
