Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bertrán Jeréz in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juan Raúl Irisarri prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jeraldo Fuica hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. 29 minutes into the match, Barrancas's José Ignacio Rozental broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The supporters of Taipullo booed when Barrancas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valerio Aguero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Archibaldo Green's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Odol Recabal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Lois Angeloni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bertrán Jeréz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lois Angeloni received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Juan Raúl Irisarri came out and tried to block the shot, but Lois Angeloni slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Archibaldo Green to strike the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes Taipullo got a freekick which was hit by Jeraldo Fuica. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by Taipullo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. José Ignacio Rozental was slow to take the kick. During this time Barrancas's players had a chance to rest. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jesus Aguiar during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lois Angeloni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Raúl Irisarri having to interfere. Leoncio Toledo hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Juan Raúl Irisarri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bertrán Jeréz, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Juan Raúl Irisarri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bertrán Jeréz in the 75th minute of play. Leoncio Toledo charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leoncio Toledo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 80th minute, Leoncio Toledo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Ignacio Rozental took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 81st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Juan Raúl Irisarri. Taipullo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 83rd match minute, Barrancas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Verdejo to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Barrancas's Jose Maria Bacquet got a free kick in the 86th minute. Archibaldo Green received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Odol Recabal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Taipullo's Juan Raúl Irisarri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bertrán Jeréz in the 93rd minute of play. Archibaldo Green sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Taipullo's Xulián Albornoz got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Barrancas's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
