The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sarracino Garín in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Severo Azúa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sarracino Garín sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Sarracino Garín's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Severo Azúa was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Hernán Davis kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sarracino Garín in the 28th minute of play forced Gualane's goalkeeper Severo Azúa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Gualane's zone, Cipriano Christie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severo Azúa came out of the goal and Cipriano Christie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gualane's goalkeeper Severo Azúa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sarracino Garín to strike the kick off in the second half. Gualane's Severo Azúa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sarracino Garín in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th minute, one of Gualane:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gualane. The referee gave Huilipatagua AFC a penalty, 56 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Francisco Ignacio Albonico, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gualane's Severo Azúa. 1-0. In the 59th minute Francisco Antonio Martínez Lamas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florián Magofke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cipriano Christie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Severo Azúa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 66 minutes into the match, Huilipatagua AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Antonio Martínez Lamas came free, but Florián Magofke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Francisco Antonio Martínez Lamas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sarracino Garín sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gualane's Severo Azúa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cipriano Christie in the 74th minute of play. When Sarracino Garín came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Huilipatagua AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sarracino Garín couldn't finish the play. Cipriano Christie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francisco Antonio Martínez Lamas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Florián Magofke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulín Haviland hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. If Sarracino Garín had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Huilipatagua AFC booed when Gualane was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfonso Sobarzo didn't get a good kick on the ball.
