With a little luck, Huachipato's Domenico Campillo got control of the ball when Miquel Bolaños tried to sneak it across the goal line. Adán Kroon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teobaldo Margulis having to interfere. After 13 played minutes Hualqui FC got a freekick which was hit by José Francisco Mac Intyre. Adán Kroon took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Teobaldo Margulis. Teobaldo Margulis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adán Kroon in the 18th minute of play forced Hualqui FC's goalkeeper Teobaldo Margulis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Yeray Videla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 26 played minutes, Huachipato's Maurín Lukey shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Teobaldo Margulis came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Huachipato reached it. If Isaiás Cofquecura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Adán Kroon put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Teobaldo Margulis. In the 39th minute, Juan Luis Azagra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 41 minutes into the match, Yeray Videla notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Huachipato's Domenico Campillo. Domenico Campillo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

If Juan Luis Azagra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juan Luis Azagra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teobaldo Margulis having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Juan Luis Azagra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Huachipato's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan Luis Azagra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teobaldo Margulis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Adán Kroon in the 64thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Teobaldo Margulis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a defensive mix-up in Huachipato's zone, Yeray Videla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Domenico Campillo came out of the goal and Yeray Videla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Juan Luis Azagra's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Teobaldo Margulis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Tomás Burgos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disvandis Gumucio hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. When Huachipato's Tomás Burgos in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The Huachipato players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
