After a rather tough play, Huaylluta's Narciso Bessoayn got a free kick in the 5th minute. In the 11th minute, Huaylluta's Quintén Cervantes seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Quintén Cervantes the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Huaylluta protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Quintén Cervantes had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Quintén Cervantes kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the match, Huaylluta's goalkeeper Fulco Fadda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jose Gorriti. 16 minutes into the match, Huaylluta's goal looked a bit too open when Vinicio Bozo came free, but Fulco Fadda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 23 played minutes Pua AFC got a freekick which was hit by Vinicio Bozo. The audience was convinced that Ondino Manguyague's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Natalio Serna was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. In the 25th minute, Wilfredo Lavanderos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ondino Manguyague fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natalio Serna having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Pua AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Emmanuel Aizpuru came free, but Natalio Serna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Norino Perochena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Ondino Manguyague made the kick off in the second half. Pua AFC's Natalio Serna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ondino Manguyague in the 51st minute of play. In the 53rd minute, Ondino Manguyague got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 57th match minute, Pua AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Saúl Basualto to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Emmanuel Aizpuru managed to get in a good position for a shot. Huaylluta's supporters rose to their feet, but Emmanuel Aizpuru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Natalio Serna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Carlos Saúl Basualto charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlos Saúl Basualto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Pua AFC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Carlos Saúl Basualto hit a great ball. Ondino Manguyague recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Velasco Nuñez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Huaylluta's goalkeeper Fulco Fadda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Ferrando Blanco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Huaylluta supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Huaylluta would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
