Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Omar Ayarza took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised León Castillo Velasco. León Castillo Velasco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Erik Browne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Berroeta having to interfere. If Giancarlo Magdahl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Cariquima FC's zone, Erik Browne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael Berroeta came out of the goal and Erik Browne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nazario Zubicueta's late challenge caught a Tocopilla AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nazario Zubicueta helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Tocopilla AFC booed when Cariquima FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nazario Zubicueta didn't get a good kick on the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Tocopilla AFC's Erik Browne sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rafael Berroeta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Damario Viveros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. León Castillo Velasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Omar Ayarza in the 35th minute of play. After some careless play in the Tocopilla AFC defense, Omar Ayarza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of León Castillo Velasco. The Tocopilla AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that León Castillo Velasco should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Omar Ayarza made the kick off in the second half. Cariquima FC's Rafael Berroeta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giancarlo Magdahl in the 52nd minute of play. With his leg León Castillo Velasco managed to avoid a goal in the 59thth minute, when Cariquima FC's Damario Viveros fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 68th minute, Damario Viveros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Giancarlo Magdahl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Omar Ayarza took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for León Castillo Velasco to make any attempt to save it. In the 81st minute, Nazario Zubicueta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Damario Viveros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Omar Ayarza in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck León Castillo Velasco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Omar Ayarza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without León Castillo Velasco having to interfere. The Cariquima FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cariquima FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
