When Nicodemo Vodanovic fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lagos's protests and gave Nicodemo Vodanovic a yellow card for diving instead. 7 minutes into the game, one of Lagos:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Malalhue a penalty, 9 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Odol Cotapos, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Lagos's Joel Chalco. 0-1. 17 minutes into the game, Malalhue's Leoncio Boonen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joel Chalco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Álvaro Vial during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Baraquiel Villamayor fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Malalhue's protests and gave Baraquiel Villamayor a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Malalhue getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Baraquiel Villamayor hit a great ball. In the 30th minute Felipo Sartie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Chalco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leoncio Boonen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joel Chalco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th match minute, Lagos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Demesio Raab to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rd match minute, Malalhue was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnaldo Vos de Vos to maneuver through the defense. When Tinguaro León came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Lagos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tinguaro León couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Malalhue getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Odol Cotapos hit a great ball. Jon-Ander Quililongo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erik Jons in the 48th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leoncio Boonen in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joel Chalco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Felipo Sartie came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Malalhue fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felipo Sartie couldn't finish the play. In the 61st match minute, Lagos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barni Urruticoechea to maneuver through the defense. If Felipo Sartie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute Erik Jons shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jon-Ander Quililongo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leoncio Boonen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joel Chalco having to make a save. Joel Chalco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felipo Sartie in the 87th minute. The supporters of Malalhue booed when Lagos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albert Villarino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Malalhue's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
