When Jonatan Hermida came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Aroma fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonatan Hermida couldn't finish the play. Octavio Ondegardo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Isaiás Deves hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Jonatan Hermida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias Lisperguer having to interfere. When Eufrasio Prado fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rota's protests and gave Eufrasio Prado a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14th match minute, Rota was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eufrasio Prado to maneuver through the defense. Jonatan Hermida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Elias Lisperguer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aroma's Bernardo Edwards played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robustiano Riffo in the 20th minute of play. Visen Magnasco kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. The supporters of Aroma booed when Rota was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robustiano Riffo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elias Lisperguer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jonatan Hermida's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Elias Lisperguer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonatan Hermida in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute Octavio Ondegardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elias Lisperguer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Ondino Caamaño notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Rota's Elias Lisperguer. Elias Lisperguer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 37 minutes into the match, Aroma's Octavio Ondegardo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elias Lisperguer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 43 minutes, Octavio Ondegardo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aroma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Octavio Ondegardo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonatan Hermida to make the kick off. Robustiano Riffo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Bernardo Edwards tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Aroma's goalkeeper Bernardo Edwards, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Elias Lisperguer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonatan Hermida in the 65th minute of play. Bernardo Edwards showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robustiano Riffo in the 69th minute of the match. 76 minutes into the game, Jonatan Hermida lined in a short shot 0-2 behind a frustrated Elias Lisperguer. Elias Lisperguer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonatan Hermida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernardo Edwards showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mercé Arestizabal in the 85th minute of the match. Alex Zubiete's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernardo Edwards read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Jonatan Hermida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alex Zubiete struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Bernardo Edwards didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rota.
