Alonso Abad charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alonso Abad the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 3rd minute, Alonso Abad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Damián Vial had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Arauco FC's Benedicto Paillalef in 7 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Calvino Casos guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Adán Akel's late challenge caught a Monserrat FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adán Akel helped the player get up and apologised. After 8 played minutes Arauco FC got a freekick which was hit by Adán Akel. Theobald Paillemil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucián De Rurange in the 10th minute of the match. If Carlos José Madariaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benedicto Paillalef during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Monserrat FC's Calvino Casos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedicto Paillalef in the 19th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Monserrat FC's Juan Cristóbal Blest got a free kick in the 24th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Monserrat FC's Lucián De Rurange sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Theobald Paillemil narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Carlos José Madariaga kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 30thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Arauco FC's keeper Theobald Paillemil was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Theobald Paillemil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucián De Rurange in the 36th minute of the match. Adán Akel got his second yellow card in the match during the 44th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Monserrat FC booed when Arauco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adán Akel didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Carlos José Madariaga made the kick off in the second half. Leonel Haeussler's late challenge caught a Monserrat FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonel Haeussler helped the player get up and apologised. If Carlos José Madariaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Theobald Paillemil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucián De Rurange, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Lucián De Rurange fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theobald Paillemil having to interfere. Lucián De Rurange struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Theobald Paillemil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Monserrat FC. When Carlos José Madariaga came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Monserrat FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos José Madariaga couldn't finish the play. Monserrat FC's Calvino Casos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Monserrat FC from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damián Vial got free with Calvino Casos in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Damián Vial received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Calvino Casos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 90 minutes into the game, Arauco FC's Damián Vial nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Calvino Casos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Monserrat FC's Lucián De Rurange got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
