After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Lázaro Dietert managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chorillos's supporters rose to their feet, but Lázaro Dietert was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rolando Torrijo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rolando Torrijo made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Faustino Arévalo sent off a good shot on target. Rolando Torrijo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Casimír Ipinza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 40 minutes into the match, Chorillos's goal looked a bit too open when Jose Ramon Quinchen came free, but Valentino Mallet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, Jose Ramon Quinchen notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Chorillos's Valentino Mallet. Valentino Mallet was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chorillos's goalkeeper Valentino Mallet, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rolando Torrijo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lázaro Dietert's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. Jose Ramon Quinchens short, quick shot in the 72ndth minute got Valentino Mallet to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Lázaro Dietert kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. In the 82nd match minute, Espijia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isadoro Veliz to maneuver through the defense. Faustino Arévalo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Torrijo having to interfere. After 88 played minutes Espijia got a freekick which was hit by Tauro Tapia. 96 minutes into the match, Chorillos's goalkeeper Valentino Mallet had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jose Ramon Quinchen. The Espijia supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Espijia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
