Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jeronimo Lambarrie in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eusebio Messia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 31st minute, Enmanuel Armanet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Narcomillo Morandé had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Narcomillo Morandé sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute, Baltazar Cruz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeronimo Lambarrie in the 48th minute of play forced Tiquina's goalkeeper Eusebio Messia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

With a little luck, Tiquina's Eusebio Messia got control of the ball when Jeronimo Lambarrie tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 78th minute Mónico Campillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusebio Messia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jeronimo Lambarrie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tiquina's Narcomillo Morandé got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Natalio Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aitor Gumucio having to interfere.
