Echedey Morgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportes Karite S.A.. Pacífico Devilat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Syd Barrett having to interfere. Elias Camacho's late challenge caught a Calaunsa FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fermín Piñeiro charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fermín Piñeiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Roque Engdahl blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Echedey Morgado having to make a save. Scofield Minachev's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Echedey Morgado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. After the first half Calaunsa FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juan Arango was the one to do the kick off. Despite being the better team, Deportes Karite S.A. failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
