The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When the match clock showed 12 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Albin Jaramillo sped through Lincay FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Abner Pedregal. Norino Narváez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frances Patrick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 23 minutes into the game, Albin Jaramillo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Abner Pedregal. Albin Jaramillo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Albin Jaramillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Abner Pedregal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 28 minutes into the game, Abraham Patrickson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lonquimai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lincay FC the free kick. After 37 played minutes Lincay FC got a freekick which was hit by Ludovico Vlahovic. Lonquimai's Norino Narváez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rollo Gibson in the 45th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Frances Patrick made the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the match, Lincay FC's goal looked a bit too open when Aaron Parrochia came free, but Abner Pedregal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonides Talma kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute Lincay FC were awarded a corner. Andolín Quiroga went to the cornerflag to take it. Rollo Gibson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Norino Narváez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 73rdth minute of the game Aaron Parrochia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lincay FC's Abner Pedregal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rollo Gibson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norino Narváez having to interfere. Leonides Talma hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albin Jaramillo in the 79th minute of play forced Lincay FC's goalkeeper Abner Pedregal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute Frances Patrick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norino Narváez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rollo Gibson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Norino Narváez having to make a save. Aaron Parrochia might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abner Pedregal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aaron Parrochia ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Lincay FC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Ludovico Vlahovic hit a great ball. Abner Pedregal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aaron Parrochia in the 96th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rollo Gibson got free with Norino Narváez in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
