After 4 played minutes Huepi got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo Bruggink. After 7 minutes, Naelio Landea made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Huepi's Elodio Aránguiz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Elodio Aránguiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Naelio Landea in the 11th minute of the match. Manolo Castex struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Gilberto Abrahamsohn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Huepi. Palena's Gilberto Abrahamsohn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manolo Castex in the 21st minute of play. Huepi's Elodio Aránguiz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Huepi from getting a goal against them. In the 24th minute Palena were awarded a corner. Mateo Mora went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 31st minute Manolo Castex shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Abrahamsohn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Virgilio Andrada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Gilberto Abrahamsohn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Palena's zone, Manolo Castex stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilberto Abrahamsohn came out of the goal and Manolo Castex tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Virgilio Andrada took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gilberto Abrahamsohn. Gilberto Abrahamsohn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Virgilio Andrada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Abrahamsohn having to interfere. Naelio Landea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Elodio Aránguiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Naelio Landea to make the kick off. In the 57th minute Manolo Castex shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Abrahamsohn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute, Palena's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Manolo Castex fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Cristofer Ahumada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 77 played minutes Palena got a freekick which was hit by Baldomiro Poza. 79 minutes into the game, Albino Morales was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palena's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Huepi the free kick. Albino Morales kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Reynaldo Bruggink during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 89 minutes into the match, Palena's Mateo Mora broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Calvino Davy fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Huepi's protests and gave Calvino Davy a yellow card for diving instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristofer Ahumada in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elodio Aránguiz saved Huepi from getting behind. If Cristofer Ahumada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Huepi's Manolo Castex got a good chance for a goal in the 99th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Huepi players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Palena from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
