Match Report

La Paila
Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0)
The mood of the audience was pleasant when Juan Pedro Benito made the kick off which started today's match. José Alejandro Basauri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César Pinto in the 3rd minute of the match. 5 minutes into the game, Leopoldo Danitz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tijeral's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Shohoku FC the free kick. Leopoldo Danitz hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Timeteo Quintero took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 6th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for José Alejandro Basauri. Tijeral's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 8th minute César Pinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Alejandro Basauri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Feliberto Soruco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Niguel Parrasia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th match minute, Shohoku FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bartolomé Iturrieta to maneuver through the defense. Juan Pedro Tacull fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Alejandro Basauri having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Tijeral's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Juan Pedro Tacull fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Leopoldo Danitz hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Leopoldo Danitz got his second yellow card in the match during the 38th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 43rd minute, Juan Pedro Tacull got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. José Alejandro Basauri made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Juan Pedro Tacull sent off a good shot on target. If Bartolomé Iturrieta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Juan Pedro Tacull to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Tijeral defense, Juan Pedro Tacull kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Alejandro Basauri. The Tijeral fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Alejandro Basauri should have stopped the shot. 63 minutes into the match, Juan Pedro Tacull had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Alejandro Basauri. Tijeral's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Juan Pedro Tacull was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. 67 minutes into the match, Tijeral's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Pedro Tacull came free, but José Alejandro Basauri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Shohoku FC's zone, Juan Pedro Benito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Niguel Parrasia came out of the goal and Juan Pedro Benito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 79th minute, Feliberto Soruco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Juan Pedro Tacull had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 86 minutes into the match, Tijeral's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Pedro Tacull came free, but José Alejandro Basauri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Bartolomé Iturrieta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute Juan Pedro Tacull shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Alejandro Basauri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Juan Pedro Tacull came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Shohoku FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan Pedro Tacull couldn't finish the play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Tijeral players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Shohoku FC.
