The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Isidoro Barnard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Lerga having to interfere. Theobald Manzor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabricio Zaldivar having to interfere. Eric Pirazzoli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Alberto Olabarriaga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Lerga having to interfere. José Alberto Olabarriaga struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Francisco Lerga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Soncor FC. Isidoro Barnard scored 0-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Francisco Lerga, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Francisco Lerga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Alberto Olabarriaga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute, Horacio Cumsille hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 29 minutes into the game, Theobald Manzor recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fabricio Zaldivar. Theobald Manzor showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Mercé Ravest managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peupeu's supporters rose to their feet, but Mercé Ravest was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabricio Zaldivar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 36 played minutes Peupeu got a freekick which was hit by Eric Pirazzoli. 37 minutes into the match, Peupeu's goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Barnard came free, but Francisco Lerga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Theobald Manzor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Fabricio Zaldivar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Theobald Manzor to make the kick off. With a little luck, Peupeu's Francisco Lerga got control of the ball when Isidoro Barnard tried to sneak it across the goal line. Soncor FC's José Alberto Olabarriaga got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Isidoro Barnard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Lerga having to interfere. If Mercé Ravest had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Theobald Manzor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabricio Zaldivar having to interfere. In the 67th minute Theobald Manzor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabricio Zaldivar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabricio Zaldivar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theobald Manzor in the 71st minute of play. Theobald Manzor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francisco Lerga was a little too slow when José Alberto Olabarriaga got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 1-2. Romualdo Lisboa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 85th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fabricio Zaldivar. Soncor FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. José Alberto Olabarriaga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Lerga having to interfere. Mercé Ravest sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute, Isidoro Barnard made a precise shot to the right of Francisco Lerga. Peupeu's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3.
