Alonzo Caro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 23rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Leopoldo Longa. Salamanca's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jorge Vicente Mac Gill struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Leopoldo Longa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hijuelas. The supporters of Hijuelas booed when Salamanca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pietro Delgadillo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute Hermenegildo Gazitúa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florinio Zapata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicanor Siredey during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Hijuelas's Nicanor Siredey got a free kick in the 90th minute. Florinio Zapata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermenegildo Gazitúa in the 91st minute of the match. With a little luck, Salamanca's Leopoldo Longa got control of the ball when Jorge Vicente Mac Gill tried to sneak it across the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
