The audience thought a goal was coming when Benjamín Pincheira got free with Florinio Zapata in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Salomone Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 5th match minute, Hijuelas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicanor Siredey to maneuver through the defense. Benjamín Pincheira might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Florinio Zapata. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benjamín Pincheira ran back to his position shaking his head. Salomone Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Salomone Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florinio Zapata having to interfere. If Benjamín Pincheira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Vicente Mac Gill's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eufemio Magnasco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Florinio Zapata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salomone Souza in the 31st minute of the match. Florinio Zapata acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 33rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Barni Christie. Jacindo Moyano hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Coihaique FC defense, Jorge Vicente Mac Gill kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eufemio Magnasco. The Coihaique FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eufemio Magnasco should have stopped the shot. Nicanor Siredey struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Eufemio Magnasco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hijuelas. In the 44th match minute, Coihaique FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barni Christie to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Salomone Souza to make the kick off. An unexpected shot in the 52nd minute by Jorge Vicente Mac Gill got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamín Pincheira in the 55th minute of play forced Hijuelas's goalkeeper Florinio Zapata to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benjamín Pincheira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Florinio Zapata took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Salomone Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 66 minutes of play, Coihaique FC's Salomone Souza made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Florinio Zapata was left in no man's land by his defense there! Hijuelas's Florinio Zapata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamín Pincheira in the 71st minute of play. Jorge Vicente Mac Gill could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Eufemio Magnasco made a huge save. Eufemio Magnasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonel Pakozdy in the 77th minute of play. After having played for 78 minutes, Leonel Pakozdy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hijuelas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonel Pakozdy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Benjamín Pincheira came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Coihaique FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamín Pincheira couldn't finish the play. In the 92nd minute, Jacindo Moyano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Florinio Zapata was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. When Salomone Souza came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Coihaique FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Salomone Souza couldn't finish the play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
