The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Melocoton getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Lucas Bernal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Pere Leyton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Felipo Cabrera fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guacate AFC's protests and gave Felipo Cabrera a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15th match minute, Guacate AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felipo Cabrera to maneuver through the defense. Lucas Bernal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Disvandis Maiz in the 20th minute of play forced Melocoton's goalkeeper Andy Riquelme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enmanuel Máximo's late challenge caught a Guacate AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enmanuel Máximo helped the player get up and apologised. Enmanuel Máximo kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. 25 minutes into the game, Carlos Alberto Morgado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Pere Leyton was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 28th minute, Lucas Bernal fired away a shot on goal. Guacate AFC's Pere Leyton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas Bernal in the 43rd minute of play. Pere Leyton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Bernal, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lucas Bernal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Guacate AFC's Pere Leyton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alberto Morgado in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Melocoton's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Disvandis Maiz fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Carlos Alberto Morgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 58 played minutes Guacate AFC got a freekick which was hit by Felipo Cabrera. Disvandis Maiz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Andy Riquelme made a huge save. In the 65th minute, Lucas Bernal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Carlos Alberto Morgado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Melocoton's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Alberto Morgado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pere Leyton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Enmanuel Máximo hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute of the match Francisco Javier Martini shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Andy Riquelme showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Enrico Sadin kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Albano Manzanares charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Albano Manzanares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pere Leyton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Bernal in the 85th minute of play. Pere Leyton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Alberto Morgado in the 87th minute of the match. Andy Riquelme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipo Rioseco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felipo Rioseco in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andy Riquelme prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
